The FLIRT 3 (Flinker Leichter Innovativer Regional-Triebzug – Fast Light Innovative Regional Multiple Unit) is a modern commuter train from the Swiss manufacturer Stadler Rail, specifically designed for use in regional and S-Bahn (suburban rail) services. Since its market launch in 2012, the FLIRT 3 has been one of the best-selling electric multiple unit (EMU) families in Europe, impressing customers with its modularity, energy efficiency, and high level of passenger comfort.

The FLIRT 3 is designed as a low-floor electric multiple unit and consists of several car units coupled with Jacobs bogies. Depending on customer requirements, the vehicle length, number of seats, and traction power can be flexibly configured – typical configurations include three to six cars. The trains reach a top speed of up to 160 km/h and are designed for high acceleration in frequent service.

EDITION FREILASSING

Under the "Edition Freilassing" label, selected models from the former Freilassing locomotive depot are reproduced. In 1905, the first locomotives, then steam locomotives, moved into the engine shed with its 20 tracks. Around 20 years later, the electric locomotive workshop was built, and further buildings followed in subsequent years. ROCO also has a close connection to the Bavarian town of Freilassing, as its first German sales office was located there. Look forward to the models in this unique edition!
