Between 1911 and 1914, 16 locomotives of this type, specially designed for the Mariazell Railway, were procured by the former Lower Austrian State Railways. Between 1959 and 1962, the locomotives were modernized while retaining their original chassis and, in particular, were fitted with new locomotive bodies. The locomotives reached a top speed of 50 km/h and had a power output of 405 kW.
