The increasing transport of powdered materials in the late 1950s, especially cement, necessitated the acquisition of new silo wagons. The wagons used for the mass transport of bulk goods were owned by the cement and lime producers and were incorporated into the CSD's rolling stock as P-wagons, i.e., privately owned wagons.
