With the Railjet 2, Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) continues its successful high-speed strategy and introduces a new generation of long-distance trains that combine maximum comfort, modern technology, and improved energy efficiency. The Railjet 2 is based on the so-called Viaggio Next Level platform from Siemens Transportation and was designed as the successor to the proven Railjet 1. It is more closely aligned with a closed train formation featuring continuous passenger guidance and a high degree of modularity.
