Printed variant of the BR 140 in the BayernBahn version in Epoch VI. The model has built-in, digitally switchable driver's cab lighting as standard. The five-pole motor ensures excellent running characteristics with two large flywheels and power consumption via eight wheels. In order to ensure high tractive power, the PIKO model has, in addition to the zinc die-cast frame, two traction tires that sit on the internal axles of both bogies in a diagonal arrangement to one another.

The model has a PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker ex works.

The model bears the “fits mfx” quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital centers, a new quality mark “fits mfx” was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the “fits mfx” quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx.
