Piko HO 51186 ~E 44 Electric DR III Sound AC 2024 New Item
Electric locomotive E 44 of the DR
Novelty 2024 | Expert model as an AC version, including PIKO sound decoder
The success story of the E 44 series began in 1930 with the pre-series E 44 001 locomotive built by Siemens-Schuckertwerke. This was followed in 1932 by the first series of axleless electric locomotives with single-axle drive in Germany. The PIKO E 44 is also a success story. The miniatures of the pre-production , as well as the series locomotives, shine through their exact scale implementation. Equally sharp and precise engravings on the case provide enormous sculptural depth and underline the excellent overall impression. This also continues in the chassis area with numerous specially attached parts on the distinctive bogies. Identical in model quality, the differences between the model locomotives were implemented in the model with the greatest possible level of detail.
Technically, the model also leaves little to be desired: the drive is both proven and robust, and a PluX22 interface makes it easy to retrofit a digital decoder. In this constellation, it is possible, for example, to switch engine room and driver's cab lighting. The variants, which are factory-equipped with a PSD XP sound decoder with vehicle sound, bring the typical âgrowlingâ of the claw bearing drive to the model railway.
The model bears the âfits mfx®â quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital centers, a new quality mark âfits mfx®â was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx® test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the âfits mfx®â quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the âfits mfx®â logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
