Piko HO 51185 E 44 Electric DR III Sound DC 2024 New Item
Electric locomotive E 44 of the DR
Novelty 2024 | Expert model including PIKO sound decoder
The success story of the E 44 series began in 1930 with the pre-series E 44 001 locomotive built by Siemens-Schuckertwerke. This was followed in 1932 by the first series of axleless electric locomotives with single-axle drive in Germany. The PIKO E 44 is also a success story. The miniatures of both the preliminary and series locomotives shine through their exact scale implementation. Equally sharp and precise engravings on the case provide enormous sculptural depth and underline the excellent overall impression. This also continues in the chassis area with numerous specially attached parts on the distinctive bogies. Identical in model quality, the differences between the model locomotives were implemented in the model with the greatest possible level of detail.
Technically, the model also leaves little to be desired: the drive is both proven and robust, and a PluX22 interface makes it easy to retrofit a digital decoder. In this constellation, it is possible, for example, to switch engine room and driver's cab lighting. The variants, which are factory-equipped with a PSD XP sound decoder with vehicle sound, bring the typical âgrowlingâ of the claw bearing drive to the model railway.
