Marklin HO 38190 Steam Engine cl 19 016 DR/DDR "Saxon Pride" Dynamic Smoke

Prototype: Express steam locomotive Class 19.0, also known as “Saxon Pride” (formerly Saxon class XX HV), with a Saxon coal tender of type 2′2 T 31. In service with the Deutsche Reichsbahn (GDR/DR). Depicted in Era IIIa, at the beginning of the 1950s.

Model: Equipped with an mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound functions. Controlled high-efficiency drive with a flywheel in the boiler delivers powerful running; four axles are powered, with traction tyres. Locomotive and tender are largely of metal construction.

Factory-installed smoke unit with speed-dependent, dynamic smoke exhaust. Dual headlights change over with the direction of travel and are active in analogue operation, but can be controlled separately in digital mode. Cab lighting and firebox flicker are each digitally switchable. Lighting uses maintenance-free warm-white and red LEDs.

An integrated buffer capacitor improves running. Cab doors are opening, and curtains between cab and tender are reproduced for added detail. There is a close coupling with kinematic guide mechanism between locomotive and tender; the tender has a kinematically guided close coupler with NEM pocket. The buffer height of locomotive and tender conforms to NEM.

Minimum operating radius R2 (437.5 mm). Piston-rod protection tubes and brake hoses are included as add-on parts. Length over buffers 26.0 cm (approx. 10¼ in).

Note: Factory specification is minimum radius R 2 (437.5 mm); operation on R 1 (approx. 360 mm) is possible at cautious/reduced speed.
