Electric locomotive class 141 of the Deutsche Bahn.
â Orient red livery with bib
â Version with double lamps
The machines of class E 41 (from 1968: 141) were first delivered to the German Federal Railway in 1956 for light and mixed service on main lines with a maximum speed of 120 km/h and a continuous power of 2,310 kW. They were the only class in the standard locomotive program to feature a rear derailleur on the low-voltage side of the transformer. The rear derailleur made a characteristic noise that, in addition to the large jumps in traction force, resulted in the nickname "firecracker". From 1987, the locomotives were painted oriental red.
