Between 1942 and 1950, over 7,000 units of the Class 52 wartime locomotive were built. These were designed with minimal effort, and materials were saved wherever possible. Weighing 84 tons, it achieved a power output of 1,192 kW and a top speed of 80 km/h. Even after 1945, these locomotives remained indispensable for reconstruction efforts in many parts of Europe.
