The Class 23 locomotives were passenger train locomotives of the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn). From 1950 onwards, 105 locomotives of the redesigned class were built. The VSM owns two Class 23 locomotives. 23 076 was the first Class 23 to arrive at the VSM in 1976, followed by 23 071 in 1978. Both locomotives are operational.
