With the models of the legendary rail bus VT 98 / VS 98 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn PIKO offers another vehicle with many highlights that is perfectly tailored to use on model railroad main and branch lines.

The illuminated side train destination indicators are a real eye-catcher. The railcar is driven by a powerful miniature motor which is equipped with flywheels for perfect running characteristics and has a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimal driving characteristics without sound interruptions. The railcars and control cars can be coupled to one another using electrically conductive close coupling kinematics.

The lighting functions of both vehicles including the lamps above the driver's cabs can be switched separately. Despite the structural design of the railcars and control cars a clear view through the passenger compartments is possible. The railcar can also be used as a prototype for transporting individual freight cars.

The sound version of the rail bus is factory-fitted with an mfx®-capable PluX22 sound decoder.
