Variant of the Rh 1044 in the version of the ÖBB in Era IV.

The characterful face of the locomotive of the former ÖBB parade horse was excellently met in the model implementation as was the striking side section of the vehicles which with the pronounced beads and the typical "portholes" posed challenges to the mold construction. The resulting impression of an ideal visual effect is continued in the locomotive's bogies.

Last but not least the new 1044 is technically convincing:
A five-pole PIKO motor with two finely balanced centrifugal masses on its shaft ensures even propulsion.

Model railroaders who prefer digital operation benefit from the mfx®-capable PluX22 sound decoder which is already installed in the factory in the sound version.

The light change that is mandatory today like the attractive driver's desk illumination was implemented using contemporary LED technology.

On the other hand the lighting in the driver's cab which is also available in the PIKO model and can be switched in digital mode is not a matter of course.
